Inspired by the fun of our Blind Tasting YouTube channel, Bottle Shock's $5k Big Blind is the ultimate game of skill. The competition unfolds over three rounds, designed to test your senses and find our champion.
STEP 1: ENTER THE COMPETITION
Visit Bottle Shock any time during our opening hours (12pm - 6pm, Thursday-Sunday) between 4 September and 2 November to enter the competition ($5 entry applies unless you've received an invitation).
STEP 2: CONQUER ROUND ONE
You will taste one wine completely blind. Your task is to correctly identify the wine's variety. If you're right, you will progress to the next round! We'll contact you via email within a week to let you know if you've made it.
STEP 3: ADVANCE & COMPETE
Round Two (6 - 30 November): Successful Round One Entrants will face an "Options Game". You'll taste a new wine and must correctly answer five sequential questions about it to advance to the final.Round Three (Saturday, 13 December): The Grand Final! This is a live, in-person group tasting event. Competitors will be eliminated with each incorrect answer until only one taster remains.
STEP 4: BECOME THE CHAMPION
The last entrant standing will be crowned the winner and walk away with $5,000 cash! THE FINE PRINTAll entrants must be South Australian residents, aged 18 or over and present a valid photo ID.Only one free entry per person is permitted.Finalists must be available to compete in person at the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 December. This date cannot be rescheduled.

All parties involved with The Big Blind are subject to Ochre Nation Pty Ltd’s general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, in addition to the Terms outlined below.
The Big Blind is a game of skill operated by Ochre Nation Pty Ltd, trading as Bottle Shock.
“Potential Entrants” are all people who receive an invitation to compete in The Big Blind, or who otherwise express interest in involvement with The Big Blind.
Once a Potential Entrant submits their information for Round One, they are henceforth considered to be an Entrant of The Big Blind.
Ochre Nation Pty Ltd reserves the right to alter these terms without notice or prior agreement from Potential Entrants and Entrants, including but not limited to the suspension of the competition.
Ochre Nation Pty Ltd reserves the right to exclude Potential Entrants and disqualify Entrants at any stage of the competition for any reason, including but not limited to any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
The competition involves consumption of alcohol, therefore;
All Entrants must be aged 18 or over.
All Potential Entrants must present valid Photographic ID to the Responsible Person on shift before taking part in The Big Blind.
Potential entrants who are deemed by the Responsible Person on shift to be intoxicated will not be permitted to take part in The Big Blind, as per Responsible Service of Alcohol legislation.
It is the responsibility of the Potential Entrant to notify staff of any allergies, intolerances, or other factors (such as pregnancy or religion) which may affect their ability to participate in the competition.
Ochre Nation Pty Ltd takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to Entrants, their belongings, or associates which arises from the consumption of alcohol.
Spittoons will be provided at all stages of The Big Blind to encourage the Responsible Consumption of Alcohol among Entrants.
Potential Entrants must provide their personal information in order to be eligible to enter the The Big Blind Competition (The Big Blind). This includes but is not limited to;

Date of Birth
Email Address
This information will be stored in compliance with Australian Data Privacy Laws.
The Entrants’ personal information may be used for marketing purposes within Ochre Nation Pty Ltd, but will not be shared outside of the company.
Entrants may request the deletion of their personal information at any time. Deletion of personal information (excluding photography) prior to The Big Blind’s conclusion will result in elimination from The Big Blind.
Only one free entry to The Big Blind is allowed per Entrant.
The competition will take place according to the Schedule outlined above.
All Entrants will be notified via email of their elimination or progression through the competition by the dates specified in the Competition Schedule, based on their performance in each Round.
Entrants must participate in each Round within the time frame specified in the initial invite, or subsequent communication regarding their progression.
Entrants understand that they must be available to take part in the Final Round on Saturday 13 December, and that this round cannot be rescheduled.
If an Entrant does not take part in any Round for any reason, they will be Eliminated.
The Competition will progress until one Entrant remains.
The final Entrant will be deemed to be the Winner of the Competition and will win $5000, payable by bank transfer from Ochre Nation Pty Ltd.
Eliminated Entrants will receive no further compensation for their participation from Ochre Nation Pty Ltd.
In the event an Entrant pays to enter The Big Blind, the entry fee is not refundable in any circumstances.
Entrants agree to be photographed and for the images to be used by Ochre Nation Pty Ltd for marketing purposes relating to The Big Blind, and other purposes relating to the business. Entrants accept that they will not be compensated for the use of their images in this way.
If an Entrant does not wish to be photographed, they must make this known to the Responsible Person on shift before taking part in The Big Blind. Denial of photography rights will not be treated as grounds for exclusion from The Big Blind.
