The basics

The Big Blind League is run by Ochre Nation Pty Ltd (ABN 38 165 945 095), trading as Bottle Shock, from its HQ and bar at 24 Victoria Street, Gumeracha SA.
Season One runs across 2026: five Regional Cups from July to November, and the Grand Final on Saturday 5 December 2026.

Open to residents of South Australia aged 18 or over for the 2026 season.
Bottle Shock and Unico Zelo team members ("House Players") may play for fun, but can't win cups, qualify, or take a place at the Grand Final, and they're kept out of the eligible standings.

Blind flights are $25 at the bar and CBD pop-ups: 5 points each, plus 10 for a perfect score (an "ace") — one ace bonus per flight theme each calendar month, with a daily cap of 12 claims.
Regional Cups are $25 to enter: 15 points just for competing. In Round 1 (the Options game) you call grape, region, vintage and more on each wine — 1 point per correct call, up to 25 a cup.
Place in the top four of a cup for bonus points on top: 100 / 80 / 60 / 40 for 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th. The cup winner also banks a "Free Run" — an automatic Grand Final seat.
Points are tracked in your account and shown on the live ladder.

Held Saturday 5 December 2026 at Bottle Shock HQ, Gumeracha. Free to play for the 24 qualifiers.
The field is the five Regional Cup winners plus the 19 highest-ranked remaining eligible players on season points.
Prize: AUD $5,000, winner takes all, funded by Bottle Shock.

Wine line-ups are curated by the head judge; the published answer key and the head judge's decisions are final, with no appeals after the reveal.
Vintage guesses are multiple choice. Ties are settled by a single wine in two black glasses — closest to the vineyard wins — with season point standings deciding who guesses first or second.
No phones or tasting apps during competition rounds.
